Railway 200: Bookings now open for unique touring exhibition train coming to Kent this July
- Bicentenary train, Inspiration, will visit Margate station from 20-21 July as one of 60 locations across Britain over 12 months, promoting rail innovation and careers.
- Inspiration will also visit London Waterloo station (18-19 July) and the Bluebell Railway (23-29 July) across Network Rail’s Southern region.
- More than 200,000 visitors expected. Tickets now available to book for visits from 27 June to 1 October.

ONE MONTH TO GO: Passengers asked to plan ahead as further 10-week closure of Blackheath rail tunnel means train journeys will change
Repair work to the Blackheath railway tunnel being undertaken by Network Rail means that train services will be diverted via Greenwich.

A lick of paint goes a long way: Network Rail Southern region prepares the railway for hot weather
- Approximately 1,500 litres of white paint - the equivalent of 30,000 square metres - will be applied to sections of the rail network to help keep passengers moving in very hot weather.
- Last year across the South of England, buckled rails due to hot weather caused 64 days (92,015 minutes) of delays for passengers.
- Two locations in Network Rail’s Southern region ranked in the top three nationally for heat-related incidents that affected the greatest number of trains.

COMPLETED: Train services return between Southampton and Portsmouth following essential railway maintenance
Train services have resumed running this morning (Monday 21 April) on the line connecting Southampton and Portsmouth via St Denys and Fareham, following the completion of critical improvements to the railway.

- Buses will replace all trains from Southampton Central on Easter Sunday
- Line connecting Twickenham and Teddington, in south west London, to be closed for three days over the Easter weekend. Rail replacement buses will run.
