Work to replace all three of the lifts at Sutton station begins on Monday, with passengers who need step-free access advised to use an alternative accessible local station such as Carshalton or Cheam.

Network Rail will undertake work to strengthen the railway embankment near Edenbridge, with buses replacing trains along the route.

Network Rail, South Western Railway and the Ministry of Defence gathered together in Salisbury for a rededication of the locomotive to the Royal Artillery following a major overhaul of the train.

Passengers in south London and Sussex are being asked to check before they travel this weekend as Network Rail carries out work to upgrade and improve the railway at various locations.

The creation of the new partnership follows the Waterloo Station Vision published last year which set out a series of long-term aspirations for both the station and the wider area.
