The railway between Stonehaven and Montrose will reopen for passenger and freight customers on Monday, February 22, following the successful completion of repair works on a damaged bridge between the towns.

The Network Rail team behind the proposed station development at East Linton attended a public meeting to discuss the project and answer questions from members of the community.

Scottish Borders Council's planning committee has approved proposals which will see a station open in the Borders village of Reston for the first time in more than half a century.

Work will begin shortly on a 10-month programme at Stirling station to deliver a £3 million investment to refurbish the non-glazed roofs of the grade A listed station.
