With just one month to go, passengers are being reminded to plan their journeys as the region counts down to the 19 week transformation of the railway between Blackpool and Preston.

Network Rail is to make improvements to Fisherman’s Path level crossing in Formby.

Passengers travelling between Liverpool and Preston, Blackpool, Wigan, St Helens and Manchester Victoria can begin to use Lime Street from today (9 October) after two platforms reopened.

Train customers are reminded to plan ahead so they can stay on the move during a major transformation of Liverpool Lime Street station which starts tomorrow (Saturday 30 September).
