New-look, interactive timeline tracks evolution & impact of rail across Britain and the world
The Railway 200 campaign has launched a new-look timeline today which takes us on a scenic, interactive tour of the past, present and future of rail.
Railway 200 celebrates the 200th anniversary of the birth of the modern railway, commemorating the opening by George Stephenson of the Stockton and Darlington Railway (S&DR) in the North East of England in 1825, a journey that changed the world forever.

- Joining in April 2025, Julien will be the new deputy regional managing director for the North West & Central Region (NW&C).
