Network Rail has today (Wednesday 13 October) reopened Barnack Road in Stamford – over two weeks ahead of schedule - as engineers continue with the final stages of work to strengthen Stamford Tunnel.

- Network Rail, British Transport Police, Northern and Leeds United Foundation ran sessions focusing on the dangers of trespass, as well as on-train and station safety
- A quarter of trespass incidents involve young people – pupils were reminded that trespassing on the railway can lead to serious and catastrophic consequences

- Brighter Journeys installation will be at Leicester station on Monday 11 October
- New research shows more people in the East Midlands are now returning to work and using the railway, with 55% of workers travelling to their workplace for the majority of their working week in August
- This new campaign forms part of Network Rail’s efforts to reduce suicides across the rail network, with train operating companies and the British Transport Police
