Just after 6am this morning (Thursday 23 January), a freight wagon derailed between Leyton Midland Road and Walthamstow Queens Road on the Gospel Oak to Barking line which has resulted in delays and cancellations to London Overground services this morning.

Network Rail is inviting residents in Bedford to find out more about the next stage of work to upgrade Bromham Road bridge, as part of the Midland Main Line Upgrade.

Work is now underway to install a temporary bridge over the railway on the A814 Dumbarton Road in Old Kilpatrick.

A memorial to 16 railway workers who died serving in World War One will be formally welcomed to Bangor railway station having previously been located at St David’s Church in Bangor.  Member of the media are warmly invited to attend this special event.

• Landslip at a remote site between Godstone and Edenbridge closed the railway on 22 December and will require 40,000 tonnes of stone to build it back up again (to be delivered by train).
• Buses replace trains between Redhill and Edenbridge and a weekday train service runs between Edenbridge and Tonbridge (bus replacement over the full line on weekends)
• The plan is to reopen the railway as soon as possible by fixing the existing slip and simultaneously work on a longer-term fix to stop any further slips happening on this stretch of line.
