Passengers travelling via Oxford are being urged to plan their journeys ahead at the start of February as Network Rail installs a new railway bridge adjacent to Oxford station as part of plans to boost rail services and capacity.

Visitors to the East Lancashire Railway (ELR) are set to enjoy even more heritage rail experiences, community events and learning opportunities thanks to a new partnership with Network Rail.

Passengers are set to benefit from a major programme of essential upgrades to the West Coast Main Line – the railway that connects London, the Midlands, the North West and Scotland.

On Monday 19 January organisations across the rail industry came together to celebrate Brew Monday, Samaritans annual campaign. 

Connect over a cuppa and check in on those around you – that was the message as Network Rail staff backed Samaritans’ Brew Monday.

Network Rail and Great Western Railway have united with Samaritans to encourage people to pause, pour and support this Brew Monday.

Grain level crossing will close at midnight on Sunday 15th February for 29 hours so that Network Rail can undertake urgent work to repair the railway.

Network Rail will soon begin £3.8m worth of track improvements at Aberdeen Station to help boost the reliability and performance of one of the busiest parts of Scotland’s railway.
