Four railway workers – from an apprentice to a track manager who has given more than 30 years’ service – are to feature in a new series of adverts advising passengers about engineering work at bank holidays.

Passengers planning to travel between London Liverpool Street and Norwich are being reminded to check before they travel this August bank holiday as Network Rail will be carrying out improvements as part of its railway upgrade plan. 

Network Rail chief executive Mark Carne visited the new training campus at the Basingstoke Rail Operating and Training Centre with two of Network Rail’s first year apprentices on Thursday (20 Aug).

A new entrance flanked by a row of shops and cafes will complete the transformation of a south London street next to the new London Bridge station.
