As work continues to provide a better railway between Manchester and Preston, Bolton passengers are being reminded of changes to train services this August.

Passengers using the Chase line between Rugeley Trent Valley and Walsall are being reminded to check before they travel this August while Network Rail continues to electrify the Chase line.

Network Rail has installed a new audible warning system at Seadale level crossing which will alert pedestrians of approaching trains.

To meet the expected growth in passenger numbers in the Bristol area, Network Rail is replacing the Victorian-era Stapleton Road railway viaduct with demolition set to begin next week. This work will enable Network Rail to double the number of rail lines – from two to four –as part of the Filton Bank Four-tracking project, increasing train services in the region.
