A Network Rail worker from South Yorkshire is one of thousands of railway staff helping to keep vital freight and passenger services moving during the Coronavirus crisis, meaning supermarket shelves stay stocked and those who cannot work from home are able to travel.

Network Rail have been training extra signallers with the help of a heritage centre as they aim to continue to move people who can’t work from home, like NHS staff, and vital freight throughout the coronavirus crisis.

An historic railway footbridge has been fully refurbished for passengers at New Mills Newtown station in the Derbyshire Peak District.
