As more wintry weather is forecast across West Yorkshire over the next few days, who Elsa than Network Rail’s teams are working to keep vital train services moving for passengers making essential journeys.

Essential track works will be carried out by Network Rail between Ely and Kings Lynn this month (February) to make services more reliable for passengers.

Stonea road in Cambridgeshire reopened this week after one of the country’s most hit railway bridges was repaired and strengthened, following a crash that occurred in 2019.

Network Rail is carrying out essential work to stabilise the track north of Harlington station after recent bad weather damaged the railway embankment.

• Work is part of East Coast Upgrade, which will transform journeys between London, the North of England and Scotland
• Reduced service to/from London King’s Cross station between 1 March and 6 June (inclusive)
• No trains in or out of London King’s Cross station on 26/27/28 February, 23/24/25 April and 4/5/6 June

• No trains in or out of King’s Cross station on Friday 26, Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 February, ahead of crucial stage of work to simplify track layout between March and June
• Work is part of East Coast Upgrade, which will transform journeys between London, Cambridge and Peterborough as well as the North of England and Scotland
• Passengers who must travel for essential reasons urged to check their journeys.

More lines have opened to trains in Kent and South East London today after two days of snowy weather limited services in the county.

Between Saturday 13 and Friday 19 February the line from Southampton Central to Brockenhurst and Romsey will close as engineers finish a £17 million upgrade for freight services.
