Rail travel into, out of, and around the capital has become possible for many more people with the completion by Network Rail of work at three south London stations to install lifts and other accessibility facilities.

The search is on to find the best photography of the British landscape and that of the rail network.

Rail companies serving the West Midlands are seeking more graduates to join its unique 18-month paid work placement scheme, Track & Train. Graduates are employed for three, six-month placements: one at Network Rail and two at either a passenger or freight operator or another company within the rail sector to gain a broad range of experience. In total, 50 places will be offered nation-wide.

Work is due to start at Gravesend station next month as Network Rail continues to improve the railway in Kent.

Network Rail is inviting young people and their families from across the West of England and Thames Valley area to its state-of-the-art maintenance training centre in Bristol to experience life as a railway apprentice and meet the people and high-tech kit involved in keeping Britain’s rail network running.
