During the October school holidays, Network Rail engineers carrying out a variety of improvements across the South Western Railway network, meaning that buses will replace trains in some places.

South Western Railway passengers on the Hounslow Loop should be aware that buses replace trains between Kew Bridge and Barnes will be closed between 23 and 31 August while we complete vital strengthening works on Barnes Bridge.
A million green miles driven by Network Rail’s electric vehicles across the south of England
Network Rail’s electric vehicle fleet in operation across the South of England hit a major landmark this month with the vehicles reaching a total combined distance of one million miles since the rollout began.

- South Western Railway will run a reduced timetable on services between London Waterloo and Exeter St Davids from Monday 11 August until further notice
- Trains will call at Crewkerne following a short period of connecting bus services to Yeovil Junction and Axminster
- The temporary timetable is designed to provide customers with a reliable service while trains adhere to speed restrictions
- ‘Soil moisture deficit’ in clay soil embankments has disturbed track levels, meaning trains cannot travel at full speeds

Buses will replace trains on the lines surrounding Guildford over the August Bank Holiday weekend Saturday 23rd August – Monday 25th August while vital engineering improvements are carried out on the South Western Railway network.
Plan ahead – buses to serve Crewkerne station from Monday 28 July due to dried out railway embankments
- South Western Railway services between London Waterloo and Exeter St Davids will not call at Crewkerne from Monday 28 July, until further notice
- Rail replacement bus services will operate between Yeovil Junction and Axminster in both directions, calling at Crewkerne
- Dried out railway embankments west of Salisbury mean further changes to trains on the West of England Line are likely over the summer
- Customers are advised to plan ahead and regularly check for updates
