Over 50,000 children from 1,000 schools across Wales and the Borders have received vital rail safety education in under three years.

Rail staff across Wales and Borders backed the Samaritans’ bid to turn ‘Blue Monday’ into ‘Brew Monday’ today (Monday 21 January), by helping get people together for tea and a chat, on what has been dubbed ‘the most difficult day of the year’.

Pembroke Road in Merlins Bridge, Haverfordwest, has re-opened and train services between Whitland and Milford Haven have resumed as normal, following the successful replacement of Pembroke Road railway bridge this weekend.

Passengers planning to use Sunday train services in South Wales in January and February are urged to check before they travel, ahead of modernisation on the South Wales Main Line.

Haverfordwest residents are reminded that essential work to replace Pembroke Road railway bridge will be completed this weekend.  

Newcastle Road has re-opened and weekend train services between Shrewsbury and Crewe have resumed as normal, following the successful completion of renewal work to Newcastle Road level crossing in Nantwich.

Passengers at London Paddington can now use the toilets for free after Network Rail removed all charges to use them.
