Network Rail is calling on the local community to help them to restore Pantyffynnon railway station in Carmarthenshire.

Rail safety teams in Wales are hosting 17 awareness events at level crossings across the region to help educate people about how to cross the railway safely and prevent accidents.

The rail industry is seeking 50 more graduates to join its unique 18-month paid work placement scheme, Track & Train. Graduates are employed for three, six-month placements: one at Network Rail and two at either a passenger or freight operator or another company within the rail sector to gain a broad range of experience.

Network Rail will begin work in the summer on a long-awaited project to strengthen and repair a bridge near Castle Cary railway station, meaning the bridge won’t need any further major work for another 50 years.

The search is on in Wales to find the best photography of the British landscape and that of the rail network.

The final plans to build a £5.2m new station to serve Energlyn and Churchill Park will be unveiled on Wednesday, 10 April at a public exhibition.

Work on a £48m project to replace the Loughor Viaduct near Swansea and redouble a 5.25-mile stretch of railway through Gowerton is close to completion.
