Passengers in south Wales could benefit from more services in the future as Network Rail is upgrading the River Ebbw railway bridge in Crumlin with the £5m upgrade starting this weekend.

Passengers are now benefitting from improved access at Cadoxton station in south Wales after the opening of new multi-million-pound passenger lifts and a footbridge.

Network Rail and British Transport Police (BTP) are warning people in north Wales of the dangers of trespass and level crossing misuse after a surge of incidents with several people caught risking serious injury or worse on camera.

Network Rail has issued a warning about the dangers of overhead electric wires after kite flyers in Buckinghamshire risked their lives and caused delays for passengers because they were flying too close to the railway.

This summer a new innovative way of inspecting the railway using high-quality imagery has begun across west London, the Thames Valley, the west and south west as part of plans to reduce delays for passengers and improve safety for staff 

Passengers using the Heart of Wales line are encouraged to check before they travel as the railway between Shrewsbury and Llandrindod Wells has been closed owing to extensive damage caused by extreme rainfall in mid-Wales on 12 and 13 August.

Network Rail has appointed a new lead for the Capital Delivery Centre of Excellence as they continue to improve the delivery of major projects and investment on the railway.
