Network Rail has today announced that Michelle Handforth, has been appointed as the new managing director for the Wales & Western region. Michelle, currently the chief executive of Aberdeen Harbour Board, will join Wales & Western in the summer.

In a world first, electric resistant paint combined with voltage-controlled clearance (VCC) has helped make a Victorian railway bridge usable by new electric trains, avoiding weeks of passenger disruption and train delays in the process.
