Network Rail is carrying out improvement work to the Cambrian Line, between Newtown and Aberystwyth, as part of its Railway Upgrade Plan. The £7.25m project will see 6km of track renewed over a period of 8 weeks.

Network Rail has celebrated winning a national award for the restoration of Pantyffynnon Station, thanks to input from the local community. Local carpentry students were able to work alongside the team in restoring the building, helped by the local community, who sent in pictures of the original station, ensuring it was restored sympathetically.

Residents are reminded that Splott Road bridge will be closed from 4 February while Network Rail carries out modernisation work. This is part of its Railway Upgrade Plan to improve journeys for passengers.

Rail staff across Wales and Borders are backing Samaritans’ bid to turn ‘Blue Monday’ into ‘Brew Monday’ on 15 January, by helping get people together for tea and a chat, on what has been dubbed ‘the most difficult day of the year’.
