Network Rail will be working around the clock between Welshpool and Newtown this Sunday to make some emergency repairs to an embankment on the railway following storm damage caused by the recent extreme weather.

Network Rail and Transport for Wales have issued the following statement and information following another weekend of extreme weather affecting the Wales and Borders route.
