Network Rail will use Sunday 4 and Monday 5 April over the Easter weekend to press on with the Gatwick Airport station redevelopment to make passengers’ future journeys from the train to the plane easier, while the station is open for travel.

Passengers in West Sussex will now benefit from £383k platform upgrade to improve journeys for all who use the station.

Passengers are advised to plan ahead for major work on the Arun Valley Line in the summer. Network Rail engineers will be rebuilding a crucial section of West Sussex’s railway, including a nine day period in August when there will be no trains through Horsham, plus five weekends of engineering closures in July, September and October.

Passengers in West Sussex are benefiting from a major investment to Crawley Station, part of the Department for Transport’s Access for All programme.

Over 3 tonnes of fly-tipped rubbish have been cleared from a level crossing in East Sussex to maintain a safe and reliable railway for passengers and a better-looking lineside for our neighbours.

Network Rail is about to begin a major four-year package of work to modernise 1980s track and signalling on the lines into London Victoria station.   

Passengers will now benefit from improved platforms at Eridge station in East Sussex which follows on from the £1.8m footbridge and canopy upgrade last year.

The clip of Tidemills level crossing is the latest in a series of dangerous incidents on the railway, which could have ended with fatal or life-changing consequences.
