Denmark Hill passengers can look forward to less crowding  within the station and a more reliable train service as £7.5m upgrade plans get underway from September.

A 130-year-old bridge is about to be replaced by Network Rail as part of its programme of engineering works this August Bank Holiday, which will affect some journeys in Kent and South East London.

Network Rail is asking passengers and the community to help shape its proposals to remove the UK’s most operationally challenging railway junction as a public consultation on the scheme enters its final month.

Major repair and refurbishment work has been completed at Hurst Green station to upgrade and improve the platforms for passengers.

Network Rail has completed construction of a new footbridge and lifts between the station platforms along with the installation of platform edge tactile paving and upgrades to the station power supply.
