Network Rail is preparing to begin a programme of essential work this summer to secure the railway line that runs through Folkestone Warren - which means the walkway and Western beach will be closed so that the work can be carried out safely.

Network Rail are advising passengers travelling between Guildford and Reigate that the line will be closed for two weeks between Sunday 14 September and Saturday 27 September for critical signalling and level crossing upgrades.

Network Rail and South Western Railway presented The Romsey School with a special plaque in recognition of the work the school has done to promote rail safety with their students.

Work to replace all three of the lifts at Sutton station begins on Monday, with passengers who need step-free access advised to use an alternative accessible local station such as Carshalton or Cheam.
