Engineers begin repairs to 10-metre Lingfield landslip, which closed the railway between Hurst Green and East Grinstead, Surrey
Network Rail engineers and suppliers are on site and working to repair a landslip that closed the railway between East Grinstead and Hurst Green in Surrey, on Tuesday.

A large landslip in Hampshire has left one of the tracks of the main line from London to Basingstoke hanging in mid-air, one other track damaged, and huge disruption expected for customers.

Forecasts of very heavy rainfall means Southern, Thameslink and Gatwick Express will regrettably be running a revised service until tomorrow afternoon (Monday 19 December).
