Network Rail has apologised for delays to Southeastern passengers using services through London Bridge this morning, after a series of unrelated signal problems in the area during the rush hour.

We apologise to passengers for the disruption and inconvenience caused by the signalling issues in the Thames Valley area this week. It is not the level of service we wish to provide nor is it the level of service that passengers expect and deserve.

Passengers returning to work through London Bridge, Charing Cross, Waterloo East and Cannon Street railway stations today (Tuesday) are being thanked for their patience after four days of intense work affected journeys over Easter.

Network Rail’s major improvement work over the Easter weekend was completed on time today, Tuesday 7 April, enabling passengers who travel on the Western route to London Paddington from the west, south west and Thames Valley to benefit from faster journeys, greater reliability and a better travelling experience.

People from Aspley Guise and surrounding villages including Woburn Sands, Ridgemont and Lidlington will have the opportunity to give their views on how railway crossing safety can be improved in their area by attending two public consultation events.

A footpath crossing of the railway near Petersfield in Hampshire has been temporarily closed  following a series of incidents.

Network Rail will be tweeting images and updates live from Reading station over Easter as the ‘orange army’ completes its biggest package of improvement work on the Western route to date.

Passengers planning to travel into London from Kent and the South East this Easter should check before they travel as Network Rail will be carrying out a major improvement programme in the area over all four days of the Bank Holiday.
