Stop, look and listen, were the messages that Eliane Algaard, Network Rail’s director of route asset management for Anglia, gave to schoolchildren at an Upminster school at an assembly about railway safety.

Network Rail has issued an urgent safety warning after an adult and child ran in front of a train travelling at up to 80mph yesterday (Sunday, 3 July).

Network Rail has unveiled its new railway bridge over Aldershot High Street, alongside representatives from the Aldershot Garrison, Aldershot F.C. and Rushmoor Borough Council who were representing Sir Gerald Howarth, MP.

Heavy rainfall across the Anglia region caused severe disruption to passengers travelling in from Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex into London this morning, as flooding at Manor Park, Seven Kings, Maryland and Ilford, between Colchester and Manningtree and between Shoeburyness and London Fenchurch Street meant it was unsafe to run trains through the affected areas.
