Network Rail is asking passengers and the community to help shape its proposals to remove the UK’s most operationally challenging railway junction as a public consultation on the scheme enters its final month.

Major repair and refurbishment work has been completed at Hurst Green station to upgrade and improve the platforms for passengers.

Network Rail has completed construction of a new footbridge and lifts between the station platforms along with the installation of platform edge tactile paving and upgrades to the station power supply.

Located between Eden Park and Hayes, vital work to repair and strengthen the steel footbridge at West Wickham station has taken place which will serve the local community for decades.

Network Rail’s proposal to connect Reigate with Thameslink has received strong support from passengers and local residents following a series of drop-in information sessions earlier this year.

Work is underway to refresh Bookham station, a Grade II listed building in Surrey, to improve passenger journeys and preserve the much-loved structure.

This weekend there will be no train services between Winchester and Southampton via Eastleigh due to planned engineering work, with some trains diverted and some replaced by buses.

Network Rail has joined with organisation Arches Local and artist Lionel Stanhope to brighten up a corner of Chatham, Kent, under local railway landmark the Luton Arches.
