Customers are being thanked for their patience after work to provide smoother and more reliable journeys between Southampton and Bournemouth was completed on time.

Network Rail is managing and delivering station accessibility enhancements as part of the Department for Transport’s Access for All programme. Work will begin on the 1 November 2021 with completion in Autumn 2022.

• A week-long project to prevent landslips between Tunbridge Wells and Hastings has further reduced the risk of disruption as the industry works to win back customers.
• Stations painted and cleaned, platform surfaces improved and biodiversity enhancements completed at five sites on the route.
• Climate change-related extreme weather means continued monitoring and improvement of rail network required across the region

Passengers are reminded to plan ahead as long-term improvements will be delivered over five days between Southampton and Bournemouth starting on Monday 1 November.

Passengers travelling between Three Bridges and Gatwick Airport are advised to check before they travel this weekend as Network Rail continues work on a major upgrade of the Brighton Main Line.

The project to modernise 1980s track and signalling on lines into London Victoria station will improve reliability and help even more passenger and freight trains arrive on time.

• Strengthening of multiple steep-sided landslip-prone cuttings near Tunbridge Wells
• Work to refurbish Etchingham footbridge and improve bio-diversity along the line 
• Bus replacement services will take passengers to their destinations while works are carried out
