As work continues to provide a better railway between Manchester and Preston, Bolton passengers are being reminded of changes to train services this August.

Passengers using the Chase line between Rugeley Trent Valley and Walsall are being reminded to check before they travel this August while Network Rail continues to electrify the Chase line.

Residents living near the railway between Preston and Blackpool North are invited to a series of drop-in events over the next month to find out more about the next phase of upgrade work.

Tameside residents can find out more about the three week closure of Ashton-under-Lyne station at a public drop-in session tomorrow (Tuesday 24 July).

Fisherman’s Path footpath crossing near Formby has been locked out of use after an emergency closure was requested by Network Rail and granted by Sefton Council.

Three level crossings between Walsall and Rugeley will close for up to six months while Network Rail carries out electrification and upgrade work on the Chase line.
