Rotherham Central station is set to reopen tomorrow (Wednesday 23 February) after being overwhelmed with water during Storm Franklin – the third storm to hit the railway in a week.

• Network Rail is continuing major railway upgrades between Manchester and Stalybridge
• This is part of the Transpennine Route Upgrade which will see the line fully electrified and bring faster, more frequent and reliable trains in the future
• Buses and diversions will keep passengers moving throughout weekends in February, March, April and May – passengers asked to plan ahead

• Rail passengers are advised not to travel in Yorkshire and the North East on Friday 18 February
• Storm Eunice is set to bring strong winds and heavy rain, causing widespread disruption for the railway
• Network Rail has extra workers ready to respond to issues at key locations

• Network Rail has removed a 30ft tree from the railway in Keighley in the wake of Storm Dudley
• Repairs to the electric wires were made through the night to get the railway running safely again
• Passengers are asked to check their journey as service resume

Traffic will soon flow better at Leeds station’s short-stay car park as Network Rail improve the layout this month.

A world-class photography exhibition will be displayed at Leeds station from today (Monday 24 January) featuring artwork from this year’s Landscape Photographer of the Year competition.

Network Rail have begun major work to upgrade a bridge over the railway in Dodworth, Barnsley to make sure it remains fit for purpose for years to come.
