Better journeys for passengers after successful Easter rail upgrade work
Hundreds of thousands of passengers and freight users are benefitting today after more than £100m of investment and improvement work was completed successfully – on time and on budget – across Britain’s railway over the Easter period.

Euston eateries to open this May
New food and beverage units at Euston, London’s fourth busiest railway station, will start to open from May 2015, with construction well underway on a £12.5 million project to create more space and offer more choice for passengers and the local community.

Transparency update – February 2015
Network Rail has today published new and updated information on its online transparency portal, including spend on procurement, staff salaries breakdown, and a list of suppliers. It has also published a series of infographics detailing the investment during 2013/14 on areas such as track and bridge renewals, telecoms units and level crossings.

High output team grows with new £50m ballast cleaner and 500 new Network Rail staff
Network Rail is expanding its world-leading track renewal programme by purchasing a new £50m ballast cleaner and welcoming more than 500 employees, previously contractors, into the company. The move represents part of Network Rail’s commitment to minimise passenger disruption, reduce the cost of running the railway by 20 per cent over the next five years, and improve sustainability.
