A historic railway bridge in Darlington is set to be revitalised this month in a £16,000 revamp.

Major improvements planned for Eaglescliffe railway station have moved a step closer today (2 March) with fresh images of the project unveiled showing the proposed new western entrance as a planning application was submitted for its new car park.

Network Rail is carrying out work to upgrade a level crossing in Conningham this month to improve reliability and make sure it remains fit for purpose for years to come.

Rotherham Central station is set to reopen tomorrow (Wednesday 23 February) after being overwhelmed with water during Storm Franklin – the third storm to hit the railway in a week.

Heavy rain brought by Storm Franklin has led to severe flooding across parts of South and West Yorkshire, with passengers strongly advised to check their journey before they travel - and on some routes not to travel at all.

Rotherham Central will be closed from the start of service on Sunday 20 February as heavy rain is expected to cause severe flooding.

The impact of Storm Eunice is still being felt today in Hertfordshire as rail services continue to be disrupted.
