A new audible warning system, alerting pedestrians and cyclists of approaching trains has made three footpath level crossings in Cambridgeshire safer.  Network Rail began rolling out the system at 18 level crossings across the Anglia region at the beginning of the year, making the railway safer and more reliable as part of its Railway Upgrade Plan.

Passengers travelling to Corby on the Midland Mainline this morning (Monday 19 June) are urged to check before they travel owing to overrunning engineering works.

Network Rail will upgrade the rail bridge which crosses Northampton Road in Kettering next month as part of the Railway Upgrade Plan.

A level crossing in Tottenham will be closed next month and replaced with an accessible footbridge as part of works to significantly upgrade the railway network in the area. Residents can find out more about the plans at information events starting next week (19 June).

Network Rail is issuing a reminder to residents in Northamptonshire that the latest stage of work to electrify the line will begin this weekend.

Passengers are advised that work will start at Tottenham Hale station in early May and a level crossing near Northumberland Park station will be closed and replaced with a footbridge in July as part of works to add a third track between Stratford and Angel Road.
