Network Rail has today apologised to motorists, pedestrians and residents in Lincoln as the timescales for a project to improve safety at Brayford Wharf East level crossing have changed.

Network Rail is advising motorists in Corby that Cottingham Road bridge will be partially closed for six weeks to allow work to improve safety to take place.

Passengers using Marsden station will no longer have to face a large drop between the train and the platform as work to improve accessibility at the station begins.

Passengers travelling in the North East are being advised to check before they travel on Sunday 24 February and for the next four weekends as Network Rail carries out work to upgrade signalling and track in the region.

Network Rail has successfully completed a £13million pound investment into the railway in the Derwent Valley area – with all services between Derby and Matlock resuming on schedule.

A significant enhancement scheme to tackle congestion between Cambridge and King’s Lynn has been given the go ahead by the government. 

Following months of planning Network Rail will begin work on Bromham Road Bridge just north of Bedford Central Station on Monday 4 March 2019.

Network Rail is reminding passengers to check before they travel as a £13million investment into the railway begins on Sunday 10 February.
