Great Northern and Thameslink passengers intending to travel to and from London on the East Coast Main Line over the August Bank Holiday weekend (26-28 August 2023) are being asked to plan ahead and check how their journey may be affected.

Passengers can look forward to smoother, more reliable journeys as major work gets underway on the Hertford Loop line and Northern City Line. 

Work will begin this Saturday 15 July on the construction of a new platform at Dore & Totley station in Sheffield.

Work to improve capacity at Leeds station, delivered as part of the Transpennine Route Upgrade, has been awarded an ‘excellent’ BREEAM rating.
