Network Rail is informing residents in West Yorkshire that eight face to face public consultation events have been cancelled in line with recent government advice regarding Covid-19.

Network Rail is advising people in Barnsley that there will be no pedestrian access over Hough Lane road bridge in Wombwell later this month. There will also be changes to train services, as major work takes place to upgrade it.

Network Rail and Northern are urging passengers planning on travelling to, from and via Barnsley, Wombwell, Elsecar, Chapeltown or Meadowhall on Saturday, 28 and Sunday, 29 March to check before they travel, as there will be changes to services whilst major work takes place to upgrade Hough Lane road bridge in Wombwell.

Network Rail is inviting passengers and residents in Leeds to an upcoming public information event to find out more about the work taking place to construct a new platform.

Network Rail has announced when the next stage of public consultation on proposals to upgrade the railway between Huddersfield and Westtown (Dewsbury) will take place.

Passengers using Leeds railway station have helped to prevent over 1000 single-use plastic bottles* from being used through utilising a water refill point which was installed last month.

Network Rail will start work next month to improve Tutbury level crossing in Derbyshire, which will make sure it can continue to be used reliably for years to come.
