A 175-year-old Perthshire railway tunnel has been given a new lease of life in a £6m project delivered by Network Rail.

Network Rail is reminding passengers that a number of parking spaces at East Kilbride station will be temporarily out of use to allow the safe delivery of construction works.

From Monday 19 to Friday 23 February, engineers on the Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) worked around the clock in Morley and Dewsbury to complete key upgrades, bringing passengers one step closer to faster, greener and more reliable trains between Manchester, Huddersfield, Leeds and York. 

A unique partnership between blocwork, a Network Rail and bloc group joint venture, and Citra Living, has been agreed that plans to build over 2,000 new homes across Great Britain.

Network Rail is holding a security awareness day at Bristol Temple Meads on Tuesday 27 February where passengers will be able to learn about how railway staff work with British Transport Police (BTP) and other partners to keep the travelling public safe. 

Network Rail has completed works as part of an £11.2m investment at Dunblane station that will improve train performance and reliability on the wider route.

Network Rail engineers have completed a mammoth nine-day programme of engineering work at the UK’s only sliding canal bridge in Keadby, near Scunthorpe.

The railway line between Rainham and Sittingbourne will remain closed for at least the next seven days to allow Network Rail engineers to stabilise a landslip next to the railway at Newington.
