Network Rail has joined digital charity Mental Health Innovations and the wider rail industry to remind the public that help is just a text message away this World Mental Health Day (Tuesday 10 October).

The sun shone overhead and there were smiles all round as many of the people who had played their individual parts in saving and restoring the Rewley Road swing bridge came together for the unveiling of the plaque presented to the Trust for their work.

Train services in the Morpeth area are facing disruption as Network Rail undertakes urgent repair work at Plessey Viaduct, which is between Cramlington and Morpeth.

From Monday 16 to Friday 20 October, buses will replace Great Western Railway (GWR) trains between Yeovil Pen Mill and Weymouth while Network Rail engineers carry out work to bring smoother and more reliable journeys on the Heart of Wessex line.

A two-part closure of the West of England line will see the railway closed for five days between Yeovil Junction and Axminster followed by a 16-day closure between Salisbury and Yeovil Junction.

• West Highland Line, Highland Mainline and Helensburgh / Balloch services to be severely affected
• Speed restrictions also being introduced elsewhere across the network due to risk of flooding and landslips

From Saturday 21 to Saturday 28 October, the railway between Guildford and Petersfield will be closed, extending to Havant on Sunday 29 October only, with buses replacing trains.

Network Rail is reminding passengers to check before travelling this weekend as Great Western Railway services between Bath and Bristol will be affected by rail improvement work on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 October.
