People in Newark and Claypole are invited to share their views as part of a second round public consultation into Network Rail’s plans to close level crossings at the south end of the East Coast Main Line.

Residents from Marsh Gibbon and Calvert will have the opportunity to give their views on how railway crossing safety can be improved in their area by attending a public consultation event on Wednesday 22 October.

People across the Thames Valley, the West and South West of England can have their say on the future of the region’s rail network following the publication by Network Rail of the rail industry’s draft Western route study.

Work is underway across Merseyside to tackle the impact that autumn has on the rail network.

Karl M^cCartney MP and Network Rail Route Managing Director, Phil Verster, officially launched the project to build a footbridge over the level crossing on Lincoln High Street today (Friday, 10 October).

A Network Rail spokesperson, said: “We are sorry for the problems that have affected train services on the Great Western Main Line this week. Performance has been well below the standards passengers deserve and expect.

Members of the public are invited to attend a drop-in-event to find out more about the reconstruction of Churchill Road footbridge in Tufnell Park, north London.

New lifts and a new footbridge have been opened at Strood, in Kent, making the station fully accessible for the first time in its 156-year-history.
