Benches promoting positive mental wellbeing are being unveiled at several train stations in Scotland as part of mental health awareness week (12-18 May 2025).  

Passengers are reminded that no trains will run between London King’s Cross and Peterborough this weekend (17-18 May) as work to transform East Coast Main Line continues.

All roads have reopened on a new bridge deck installed over the railway in north London – marking one of the £30 million project’s final milestones.

Passengers are being advised to plan ahead during June with train services affected through South Gloucestershire and the Severn Tunnel while vital maintenance takes place over a two-week period.

Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) engineers have this week begun initial preparation work for the raising and renovation of Crawshaw Woods Bridge, the earliest cast-iron railway bridge to still be in place over an operational railway anywhere in the world.

More than 20 organisations are formally joining forces to protect Scotland’s critical infrastructure from weather and climate related impacts.  

Passengers are being asked to check for planned weekend closures on the London Overground Mildmay line, which runs between Stratford and Richmond/Clapham Junction.

The Newquay Strategic Route – a new road to improve transport links and unlock economic growth in Newquay – has opened to the public, with Network Rail’s new bridge over the railway now in use.
