London Euston has welcomed a feathery new member of the station team in Oscar, a Harris hawk.

Major railway renewal work between Shrewsbury and Crewe will be taking place from 1am on Saturday 19 July to 4am on Monday 21 July.

Network Rail has today concluded its new rail supply contracts for the provision of almost 450,000 tonnes of rail for the five years to 2030. The contracts have been awarded to British Steel, Saarstahl Rail and Voestalpine, with Arcelor Mittal also able to supply on an ad-hoc basis.

Passengers are advised to plan ahead as essential rail maintenance will affect services between Llandudno Junction and Holyhead from late Monday 14 July to early Friday 18 July 2025.

Network Rail is preparing to begin essential vegetation management work along the railway between Wemyss Bay and Inverkip, involving clearing overgrown trees and plants that could pose a risk to trains and passengers.
