This spring bank holiday, the majority of the railway network across East Anglia will be open for passengers to travel and enjoy exciting destinations in Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk and Cambridge, as well as access to the capital.

To celebrate Learning at Work Week, Network Rail has launched a new learning academy in partnership with Capital City College in Enfield. This pre-apprenticeship programme is designed for 16 to 19-year-olds who are Not in Education, Employment, or Training (NEET), offering them the chance to gain essential skills and take their first steps towards a rewarding career in the rail industry.

Network Rail has developed a bold and collaborative vision to transform Britain’s busiest station, London Liverpool Street. The planning application for the redevelopment scheme has been validated by the City of London.  

Repair work to the Blackheath railway tunnel being undertaken by Network Rail starting this Sunday means that train services will be diverted via Greenwich and Bexleyheath. 

The Cross City line between Birmingham New Street and Lichfield Trent Valley will close for nine days this summer while an HS2 viaduct is built near the new Curzon Street station.

Thameslink and Great Northern passengers reminded that no trains will travel to and from London and Peterborough/Royston this weekend (17-18 May) as work to transform East Coast Main Line continues.
