Passengers are reminded that a programme of vital engineering upgrades on the East Coast Main Line will disrupt services over the next two weekends.

This year marks the 200th anniversary of the modern railway. Since the first passengers travelled by train, rail travel has boosted our prosperity and enhanced the quality of our lives.

Passengers are reminded to plan ahead as essential upgrades on the Hull to Scarborough line will disrupt services through Driffield.

Six weekends of major engineering work in the North East will see huge strides made in Darlington station’s £140m regeneration.

From Saturday 22 February to Friday 28 February, train services will change on the West of England Line between Salisbury and Yeovil Junction, with no trains calling at Sherborne or Templecombe stations all week, while Network Rail complete vital improvements to the railway in the Gillingham area.

Passengers in West Wales are being urged to check before they travel later this month and into February when Network Rail will be carrying out essential track renewals, drainage work and vegetation management.
