Passengers are urged to check before they travel on Friday with Storm Éowyn’s high winds bringing widespread disruption across the North and North East of England.

Storm Éowyn will cause significant disruption to Scotland’s Railway with a red warning meaning no trains will run on Friday to keep passengers and staff safe.

Network Rail and Transport for Wales are urging all customers to check before they travel on Friday morning and into the weekend with weather warnings in place across the country.

Network Rail is urging passengers using the East Coast Main Line and across the North East not to travel on Friday as Storm Éowyn brings high winds.

People planning rail journeys in the North West of England are being urged not to travel on Friday due to the impacts of Storm Éowyn.

Network Rail engineers will be working  on the West Anglia main line at weekends from mid February which will help keep the railway operating safely for rail services including Stansted Express.

• Heavily impacting services on both the East Coast and West Coast Main Lines

Passengers using the East Coast Main Line are being reminded to plan ahead and check before they travel ahead of two consecutive weekends of planned engineering work, starting this Saturday.
