• Major work to boost reliability and bring better journeys for passengers will get underway this weekend

Volunteers from Network Rail teamed up with the TransWilts Community Rail Partnership and Knorr-Bremse, a leading manufacturer of rail safety systems, to improve the environment around Melksham station in Wiltshire, including the area outside the popular Melksham Hub Café.

This weekend (Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 September), major work to upgrade a bridge near Kettering will make headway, eventually allowing cleaner and quieter electric trains to be introduced to this section of the Midland Main Line.
