Every mile of track is being inspected across Wales to detect and remove hazardous trees and help save a threatened species 

Passengers in the North East will soon benefit from a more modern, reliable railway as Network Rail teams are upgrading the signalling control system over Christmas.

Network Rail is unveiling the nation’s most breath-taking landscapes from this year’s prestigious Landscape Photographer of the Year competition, in a free exhibition that will tour Britain’s biggest and busiest stations.

Network Rail has produced a guide to help autistic people confidently and independently travel by train. It’s been developed in partnership with the National Autistic Society, after research was conducted with groups that represent passengers with specific needs, to look into additional ways the railway could be made more accessible for everyone.

Track renewals are planned from early 2022 to reduce delays and improve reliability of rail services for passengers travelling between London and Cambridge, Stansted and Kings Lynn.

Passengers are being advised about work next year to replace the lift giving access to platforms 13 and 14 at Manchester Piccadilly station.

Network Rail teams in York are giving up their Christmases to carry out essential work to upgrade the track north of York to make sure train services can continue running reliably for years to come.
