Network Rail Scotland has once again partnered with British Transport Police (BTP) to raise awareness around the dangers of level crossings ahead of International Level Crossing Awareness Day (ILCAD).

A family in Knebworth were left shocked after their beloved tortoise, Twin, who had been missing for eight months, was found by three Network Rail workers. 

A package of rail works is planned from this weekend (11 and 12 June) to reduce delays and improve reliability of rail services for passengers travelling between London, Enfield Town and Cambridge.

The void appeared on Saturday 4 June and the line has been closed to allow investigation work to be completed.

Responding to news of strike dates being announced by the RMT, Andrew Haines, Network Rail’s chief executive, said:

Network Rail is reminding the Dawlish community that Colonnade underpass is due to temporarily close during the week beginning Monday 13 June to allow engineers to carry out vital work on the construction of the second section of the sea wall, which is being built to protect the south Devon town and coastal railway from storms and rising sea levels.

The testing of the new digital signalling on the Northern City Line has commenced with the running of the first Great Northern train between Finsbury Park and Moorgate under the new system.

Passengers and local residents in Lostwithiel are set to benefit from quicker and easier access across the railway and to the station, thanks to £1.845m of funding to build a new footbridge over Grenville Road level crossing, adjacent to the station.
