Over the weekend (29-31 October), Network Rail updated an important railway junction in East Staffordshire to bring more reliable train journeys for passengers and freight services.

• No trains will run between Yorkshire and the capital this Saturday (5 Nov) in the seventh round of industrial action
• National rail strikes planned for 5, 7 and 9 November will also significantly reduce train services across Yorkshire
• Passengers should only travel if necessary, plan ahead and know their last train times

Passengers on the Hope Valley line between Manchester and Sheffield should check before travelling on two Sundays in November, as multi-million-pound upgrades to the line continue.

Due to further coordinated strike action by the RMT, TSSA and Unite trades unions on Saturday 5, Monday 7 and Wednesday 9 November, Network Rail is asking passengers to only travel if absolutely necessary, expect widespread disruption and to plan ahead.
