Ahead of International Day of Disabled Persons (Saturday 3 December), Network Rail has teamed up with Bristol Sight Loss Council (BSLC) to launch a first-of-its-kind audio guide for Bristol Temple Meads station, to assist blind and partially sighted people with wayfinding.

Network Rail has successfully completed work to clear trees and vegetation on an 8-mile stretch of railway between Evanton and Invergordon in the Scottish Highlands.

Over 30 miles of train-powering electric wires are now in place to help deliver cleaner, greener journeys in the future as part of the multi-billion-pound Transpennine Route Upgrade.

Work is underway on the Levenmouth Rail Link project to protect the future railway from the impact of the adjacent river.

This December, Network Rail is investing in the East Midlands’ railway to bring better stations, more reliable journeys and to power ahead with the Midland Main Line electrification scheme.

Just over a year after the Dartmoor Line reopened to regular passenger trains, journey numbers on the line have passed 250,000 this Monday morning [28 November], with the arrival of an extra special visitor, Rail Minister, Huw Merriman MP, to officially open the renovated station building.

Teams from Network Rail will work round the clock this festive period to deliver vital track improvements in and around York railway station.
