IPSWICH TUNNEL SITE VISIT

The £5m project to lower the track in the Ipswich tunnel, to allow passage of 9’6’’ freight containers, reaches its half way point on Sunday 8 August 2004.
To mark the occasion, you are invited to join a special visit to see the work underway inside the tunnel. You will be escorted by a Network Rail project manager, who will explain the stages of the project that have already been completed, as well as the activities that are still ongoing. There will also be an opportunity for interviews with Mark Livock, Network Rail Project Director.

Interview opportunities outside the tunnel. The level of noise inside the tunnel is likely to make interviews difficult.
NB. Please ensure you bring sturdy footwear - access to the tunnel will not be permitted without it. Hard hats and high visibility vests will be provided.
